Nicholas Watts - Targa Florio 1972
Each print is hand signed by Sandro Munari and Arturo Merzario
For the 1972 Targa Florio, Enzo Ferrari entered just one of his powerful 312PB sports racing prototypes. Driven by Arturo Merzario and Sandro Munari, the car set fastest lap in practice and dominated the race itself against strong opposition from Alfa Romeo. Run over the roughest roads and the most hostile enviroment in Europe, the Sicilian open road race ran for nearly 500 miles over 11 laps of the tortuous Piccolo Circuito Madonie. Merzario is shown leading the Alfa of de Adamich and Hezemans as they rush through the town of Collesano to record a memorable victory for Maranello in this classic event.
