The opening lap of the 1956 Monaco Grand Prix is depicted with Stirling Moss in his Maserati 250F leading the Ferrari Lancias of Eugino Castellotti and Juan Fangio, Harry Schell's Vanwall and Jean Behra in another 250F. They are pursued up the Beau Rivage, it was a lead Moss did not relinquish in the 100 lap race.
