Unique in Le Mans history, the same driving team of Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and Tom Kristensen were victorious over three consecutive years driving the Audi Sport Team Joest Type R8. The image shows the 2002 race with Pirro negotiating the first chicane at dusk. Depicted in the border left is a study of the winning car in 2000 with Kristensen driving, whilst to the right is Biela in the wet race of 2001.
