    Rockingham

    Rockingham

We arrived at Rockingham for the next round of the Clio Cup full of expectation and confident of a strong showing. Both Luke and his teammate Sam were quick in Friday practice, but both struggled to get their cars working in qualifying, Luke qualified 11th and 15th Sam, 15th and 16th.

    Race 1.
Luke didn't get the best of starts and lost 4 places going into the first corner, this he quickly put right moving straight past a couple of the cars he lost out to, then over the next few laps he moved up to 9th place with the Championship Leader firmly on his tail, he had to keep him at bay for the remainder of the race still gaining all the time on the cars in front, finishing in a fine 9th place.
    Race 2.
This time Luke's start was much better and saw him in 10th after the first lap, then unfortunately he got squeezed off the track by another car and onto grass, eventually getting back on the circuit in last place. With the steering out of shape he drove his socks off passing cars as he caught them finishing in 13th place. A great result considering, but it could have been so much better.
Massive thanks as usual to our team, and of course to our fantastic sponsors, and thank you to all those of you who came to support us at the weekend, look forward to seeing you at Silverstone.

    Snetterton

    Snetterton

The ups and downs of racing hit us again at Snetterton this weekend. Qualifying did not go to plan at all leaving Luke at the back of the grid for both races. Race 1 saw Luke race from 17th to finish a fine 11th and in sight of the top 10. Unfortunately a change of set up for race 2 meant Luke's car did not want to do as it was told and spat him off finishing the race very prematurely. Great progress and racing, will take this onto Rockingham in a months time. Thank you to all who came, and all our fantastic sponsors

    Clio Cup Oulton Park

    Clio Cup Oulton Park

Wera Racing Clio Oulton Park - Ups and Downs.

You only get two practise sessions on the Friday test day, Luke's first session was lost with a gearbox issue. The second session was much smoother and we gained some much needed track time.

    Qualifying
It had rained and although most of the track was wet there was a dry line in places, most of the cars ventured out on slicks finding the grip where they could, Luke straight away hitting the top of the time sheets, excelling in the wet slippery conditions. Unfortunately on his 5th lap another car spun and re-entered the track right in front of him leaving him no where to go and hitting the car damaging his radiator putting him out of the rest of qualifying. We had to sit there and watch as other drivers put in better times pushing Luke down to 7th. The mistake of others costing us dearly.

Race 1 - Luke made a great start from 7th into 4th, then going into the hairpin got smashed off by another yet driver, not only costing us the position but also damaging the car the geometry was knocked out of square, then running in 10th position also got hit by another car eventually finishing in 11th place. Both drivers that hit us have been punished, but it's still annoying 4th or better was stolen from us today.

Race 2 - This never really got going after a couple big accidents, Luke ending up in 8th.

I have to say both Luke and Teammate Sam have driven always to the highest standard, I am proud of both our drivers, the majority of the grid are professional drivers, and everyone makes mistakes, however the only way to stop this is to really punish any incident, disqualify them from the meeting all together.

Mega thank you to our team and and friends for their continued support and Jakob Ebrey for his fantastic photographs. Next stop croft. Wera Tools UK

    Clio Cup Rounds 5 & 6

    Clio Cup Rounds 5 & 6

After the disaster of Donington we have a new stunning livery in Wera Tools and a new circuit to learn.
Not only is this a circuit he has never been to, its also the fastest most daunting circuit in the country.
No practice straight into Saturdays qualifying, the first half of the session Luke getting used to track very quickly and running in 6th position, absolutely awesome performance. As the session went on he ended up in 15th place, mainly due to the other teams having their drivers slip streaming each other gaining an advantage, realistically we were half a second of pole, a seriously impressive debut.

Race 1, starting 15th Luke had a great start and made his way into 8th, only to bang wheels and knock out his steering forcing him to take it easy and just bring the car home and finish the race.

Race 2, managed to miss all the mayhem then from 15th finished a fine 10th, until, a we got hit with a 30sec penalty for supposedly jumping the start, oh well that's racing, still, was a good race.
Luke drove exceptionally well and thoroughly enjoyed battling with the drivers at the front of the pack.

Our results do not show how well Luke drove, next up is Oulton Park a circuit we do know. This will be exciting..

    Round 1 Brands Hatch

    Round 1 Brands Hatch

    Brands Hatch Round 1

We have been looking forward to this for a long time and finally the time had come.
With Friday practise underway Luke building his pace nicely until a turbo issue prematurely ended our progress. Session two was also cut short due in incidents on track, but we were happy with our pace and looked forward to qualifying on Saturday.
Qualifying wasn't too bad Luke ending up 15th for race 1 and 16th for race 2, a mere 6ths of pole position.

Race 1 - Just as the cars made their way to the pits the heavens opened giving all the mechanics an extra job putting on the wet tyres. Luke had an ok start loosing a place off the line then got over taken under a yellow flag when the pace car came out. Once the race got back under way he set about passing cars lap after lap up to 11th then a mega battle finishing 0.029s ahead taking a fine 10th place. A fantastic drive, his pace was as fast as the leaders, great first race.

Race 2 - After the ups of Saturday we had the downs of Sunday due to a gearbox issue, making it all but impossible for Luke to do anything but keep going as best as he could and collect the points for finishing. However our teammate Sam Osborne was on fire on Sunday and drove superbly from 19th finishing a fine 12th. We now move on to Donington next week where the Kingsley Clio's will be back in action fighting their way to the front of the grid. Huge thank you to our race Team Ciceley Motorsport, and all our sponsors.
